Our Impact

1 in 3 children growing up in our focus area is growing up in poverty. We want to cut that in half.

We believe every child and family living in east Tulsa has limitless potential. The circumstances of their birth should not determine their birth and life outcomes. Today, east Tulsa children and families face unique barriers to achieving this potential.

East Tulsa Studies

Language Access Study

Over half of east Tulsa students—56%—are multilingual learners, compared to 38% across all Tulsa Public Schools. These students bring incredible diversity and talent, but they also have unique needs. That’s why we’re working to better support them. We’ve partnered with the City of Tulsa, Tulsa Community College, and a national expert in language inclusion to understand the challenges they face and find ways to help them thrive into adulthood.

Displacement Vulnerability Index

We deeply believe in preserving the cultural vibrancy of the neighborhood. Too often, revitalization leads to gentrification and displacement, pushing longtime residents out. To better understand the risk factors and identify a baseline, Elevate East partnered with 9b Corps to develop Tulsa’s first Displacement Vulnerability Index to mitigate this possibility.
